CockpitFM.net is an initiative of Maurice Zondag and Simon Smith, both addicted to sim racing.
Maurice got his own Dutch team F1Cast Racing (www.F1CastRacing.com) in the Dutch League Benelux Racing Online, where he and 13 others drive in Porsche 997s and WTCC cars. Maurice also is one of the pioneers on the medium podcasting, being one of the first Dutch podcasters since 2005. He hosts amongst others the popular Dutch spoken podcast about the Formula 1, the F1Cast (www.f1cast.nl). In 2009 he drove for the FSR team Backmarker Brigade.
Simon is also the team owner of Backmarker Brigade (www.backmarkerbrigade.com), currently active in different international simracing leagues, both F1 style and Touringcars. And yes, that is the same team mentioned above where Maurice drove. That is also where these two crazy guys met. Simon also does the commenting during PSR reported races, so using a mic and telling his opinion isn't new to him.
The step for both of them to cooperate on this awesome project is therefor very obvious.
The main goal for CockpitFM.net is to provide enjoyable content for simracers around the world. At one hand by producing an audio podcast show called CrashCastFM, totally dedicated to sim racing, with the actual drivers in mind. Therefor it is not a direct competition to many other great shows that are already out there. It's not so much about the hard- and software and news about that, but it is about you, the race drivers, the teams, the leagues that are out there. Interviews, reports and other great stuff is presented to you.
At the other hand CockpitFM.net can be used as a portal to many other availlable content about sim racing and motorracing in general. Using the syndication technique, you can find all original content by their producers, here at one place. We don't collect any data or files from these sites, we only use the channel mode to make them available to you, the CockpitFM.net visitor.
